PUNGENT STENCH Explain U.S. Tour Cancellation
May 25, 2006Long-running Austrian extreme metallers PUNGENT STENCH have issued a longer statement regarding the cancellation of their recent U.S. tour. The band's drummer, Alex Wank (a.k.a. Rector Stench, Mr. Stench, Sex Slave),said, "We feel sorry for all promoters and fans for the cancellation of the rest of our U.S. tour dates. There was no other possibility to do it different due to a very bizarre situation we have been. After our Denver show we had no information AT ALL about the upcoming shows, no deals, no contracts, no nothing, we didnt even know who is going to continue our travel with us, no sign of the agent who booked the tour, purely nothing. Why should we drive around 1,000 of miles hoping there is a show hoping to get some money hoping at least some people know we are around. The first part we did was allready messed up, 15+ hour rides, cancellations couple of hours before a show, payments of $60 for a gig and no infos at all of our agent. We are too old to tour the punk way, we are not a crust hardcore band who doesn't care about anything. We are easy persons to deal with as far as the deal is straight. And we don't ask for much and we are happy to play small clubs under the right circumstances. But this U.S. trip was just horrible and a waste of time. We will come back to the States after our next release but it has to been done correctly and right.
"Thanks to all our old and new friends we made on this tour. Due to them we had at least the chance to do the first part of the tour. Thanks for the support and friendship. To all the others who missed us, we will come back."
PUNGENT STENCH's latest album, "Ampeauty", was issued in September 2004 through Nuclear Blast Records.
